Uma gota no oceano

Quando subi Manantiales de Paz para acompanhar minha amiga colombiana que estava se mudando para os EUA, não sabia que eu também iria embora em tão breve. Esse bairro era parte do assentamento que meses antes havíamos construído uma casa através do Techo.

Foi muito lindo o reencontro com as pessoas que trabalhamos naquele final de semana. Dona Maria Lili era a vizinha da beneficiada, e é uma pessoa de alma muito pura e doce. Além de fazer uma comida muito gostosa, temperada com amor. Passamos algumas horas na sua casinha também com seu marido, conversando sobre coisas diversas e aproveitando o tempo juntos.

Logo depois visitamos a casa que construímos. Foi muito emocionante, porque quando fizemos a casa, a dona estava grávida. Agora tinha uma linda bebezinha naquela casinha pequena e quentinha, que poderia crescer com um pouco mais de qualidade de vida e saúde. Foi nesse dia que eu confirmei a famosa frase de Madre Teresa de Calcutá:

“O que eu faço, é uma gota no meio de um oceano. Mas sem ela, o oceano será menor.”

A drop in te ocean

When I went up Manantiales de Paz with my Colombian friend who was moving to the US, I did not know I also would leave in such a short time. This neighborhood was part of the settlement those months before we had built a house through the Techo NGO.

It was very beautiful the reunion with people who worked that weekend. Maria Lili was the neighbor of the family we constructed for, and she is a very pure and sweet soul of person: besides making a very good food, seasoned with love. We spent a few hours in your house also with her husband, talking about different things and enjoying the time together.

After that, we visited the house we have built. It was very exciting, because when we did the house, the lady was pregnant. Now there is a beautiful baby girl in that small but warm house, which could grow with a bit more quality of life and health. That was the day I checked out the famous phrase of Mother Teresa:

“We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.”
